The role ensures that project activities comply with applicable Saudi regulations, approved safety standards, and client requirements while minimizing risks to employees, contractors, visitors, and the public. Key Responsibilities • Develop, review, and implement health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and project-specific safety plans. • Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documents to identify potential safety hazards and recommend appropriate preventive measures. • Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments for construction and engineering projects. • Monitor contractors’ compliance with approved safety plans, method statements, and applicable regulatory requirements. • Review Job Safety Analyses (JSA), risk assessments, and emergency response plans submitted by contractors. • Coordinate with architects, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers to integrate safety requirements into project design and execution. • Provide technical advice on fire safety, emergency exits, access routes, hazardous materials, and other relevant safety requirements. • Participate in construction supervision activities to verify compliance with project safety specifications and approved procedures. • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. • Prepare safety inspection reports, risk registers, audit records, and other required HSE documentation. • Conduct safety awareness sessions, toolbox talks, and training for employees and project personnel as required. • Coordinate with clients, contractors, project managers, and relevant authorities on safety-related matters. • Monitor the implementation and closure of corrective actions and contribute to the continuous improvement of safety performance. • Support compliance with applicable Saudi regulations, Saudi Building Code requirements, and relevant international safety standards. Qualifications and Requirements • يلزم اعتماد مهني من الهيئة السعودية للمهندسين تخصص هندسة الوقاية من الحريق • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related engineering discipline. • Relevant experience in engineering consultancy, construction supervision, or project management is preferred. • Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and construction safety practices in Saudi Arabia. • Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and applicable fire and life safety requirements. • Ability to review technical documents, conduct risk assessments, and prepare professional reports. • Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills. • NEBOSH, IOSH, or other relevant professional safety certifications are an advantage.
