Key Responsibilities • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and study architectural plans, structural drawings, and shuttering layouts to determine dimensions and shapes. [1, 2] • Material Preparation: Measure, cut, and shape timber, plywood, and steel or system formwork (e.g., Doka, PERI). [1, 2] • Formwork Assembly: Build sturdy frames and panels capable of withstanding heavy wet-concrete pressure. [1, 2] • Erection & Alignment: Install and brace shuttering for foundations, walls, columns, and slabs while ensuring exact levels, plumb, and structural alignment. [1, 2] • Surface Treatment: Apply release agents or oils to formwork surfaces to ensure smooth concrete finishes and easy stripping. [1, 2] • Quality & Safety Checks: Inspect assembled forms for gaps or defects before concrete pours, and follow site safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) rules. [1, 2] • Dismantling: Safely strip and dismantle formwork after concrete has sufficiently cured, cleaning and stacking materials for reuse.
