Project Buyer

ROLE The role of Project Buyer is to source all Bill of Material (BOM) components of the project he is responsible for, in line with Activity Purchasing policy, in order to optimize the Quality, Cost, Delivery and Innovation (QCDI) performance. He is also responsible for costing the BOM components of the customers RFQs. MISSIONS • Source the Project BOM components in line with the Commodity Leaders strategy guidelines and suppliers' panel • Work with the Purchasing Community / Project Community to indentify Product Rationalization opportunities, evalutate savings and apply them (carry-over) • Coordinate with ASQ the feasibility analysis of the sourced components with the suppliers participating on the bidding process • Negotiate prices with the suppliers • Lead the Sourcing Committee, to select the awarded suppliers togheter with the project stakeholders • Lead the Kick off meeting with the nominated suppliers • Issue orders or provide to the plants the elements for the samples required by the project • Monitor the BOM components pricing versus the initial business plan costing • Monitor the suppliers readiness all over the development life versus the project planning milestones, manages risk on costs / quality / and deliveries • Manage a lessons learned meeting with the project community and purchaisng community • Formally transfers the project sourcing file to the Plant Buyers 6 months after SOP, including the contract amendment requirements • Partners with the ASQ in order to deploy the APQP on all BOM components • Reports the project KPIs to the Project Purchasing Manager and Project Managers.
